I
believe that children should be allowed to grow at their
own pace and to learn in ways that help them become
confident in themselves as learners.
My goal to help children learn about themselves and
the world around them, and to encourage children to
feel good about themselves as learners. These goals
guide everything I do in my program. Children at Vika's
Garden Daycare are given the opportunity to explore,
experiment, and create in a safe and nurturing environment.
Even
from an early age children show preferences for different
styles of learning. Some will find it easy to follow
verbal instructions, others will learn by “making their
own”, while others learn best from someone showing them
“how to do it” one-to-one. Lessons at Vika's Garden
Daycare address those differences, encouraging the development
of the whole child, with activities that involve younger
and older students in ways appropriate to their learning
levels and styles. For preschoolers, it is too early
to speak of critical thinking, but not too early to
show them the fun of being involved actively with their
world through making decisions.
All
children enrolled into my daycare are treated with love
and respect and provided with the opportunity to engage
in a wide variety of activities. My most fundamental
objective is to provide for your child a safe, clean,
and loving atmosphere, in which each child will feel
he/she is loved, valued, and wanted.
